Villa K 5.0 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sonya O'Connell ★★★★★ We have just returned from a magical few days in Corfu and without doubt one of the highlights was our stay in Villa K. This is the jewel in the crown in the area of Kommeno and epitomises true hospitality at its finest, delivered by the owners Karen & Paul and their team. It is only open since June and has been beautifully renovated and no stone has been left unturned in terms of hospitality expectations. We stayed in the Poseidon room which was very tastefully designed and very well appointed in terms of space for everything. It had a lovely west facing balcony which meant we could enjoy the evening sun. The breakfast every morning was simply Devine with the freshest of ingredients, prepared by Karen, who always found time to chat with her guests. The pool area is beautiful and exudes an air of rest and relaxation. The staff, we came into contact with, both Harris and Briget were exceptionally attentive and their English was excellent. Massive kudos to Karen and Paul on their new hotel, it really is a very special place and its location is a real gem. We will be back!! Karen heeft daarop alles uit de kast getrokken om het me aan niks te laten ontbreken. Ze heeft zelfs een vegan ontbijt menu uitgeprint toen ik er was, zodat ik elke dag kon kiezen. Dat is pas service!Ook hielpen ze met het boeken van een auto, kwam Karen elke dag een praatje maken en zijn we op alle mogelijke manieren in de watten gelegd. En dit allemaal bovenop dat de accomodatie sowieso prachtig is, van alle gemakken voorzien en brandschoon. Ook de andere staf leden waren stuk voor stuk spontane, vriendelijke mensen. Totally brand spanking new and everything including the landscaping is pristine. They included a breakfast that you would get at a 5 star restuarant and they have a poolside bar that is manned by the owner who is a wealth of island information as well as a wife that is a total gem. They made arraingements for us for a 4 wheeler and always checked in to ask if we needed anything. The pool has a water feature that will lull you to sleep poolside. They also have there own privite beach you can walk to and there is a very nice place to eat for dinner right down the street. The beds were super comfortable and I am a builder here in Illinois and the quality of the decor and construction was 5 star. The owner even did a whole house water purification sysem for the whole resort so dont fear for drinking the water. Oh and side note unlike most places in Greece you can actually flush the tp down the toilet which really makes for a much better expierence from the other option we had to do in the other places we stayed. If you are going to Corfu ....STAY HERE!!! The food is outstanding, and the bar serves everything from local wines and prosecco to cocktails and local beers.The on-site amenities are outstanding.The gym is one of the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel - top equipment, even Pilates Reformers, plus an outdoor yoga space. And the little boutique on site is lovely for gifts or if you forgot to pack something.There’s plenty of on-site parking, and Corfu’s Old Town is just a relaxed 15–20 minute drive away, so exploring the island couldn’t be easier.What really makes Villa K unforgettable are Karen and Paul. They’ve poured their hearts into this place. Karen especially goes above and beyond, ensuring every detail is perfect while still finding time for a friendly chat. We spent a lot of time at the pool and sun beds as we almost didn't want to leave the hotel, but when we did, we found out that there was a very cute "private" beach 5 minutes walk away for Villa K guests where we could bathe in the sea, as well as some wonderful restaurants close by. We didn't rent a car, but probably would next time (and oh yes, there will be a next time) as the island of Corfu is quite large with lots to see. The old town is around 15 minutes from the hotel, and is a MUST to walk around. Just amazing. Thank you so much Paul and Karen for making us feel like we are family. Location is nice in the middle of the island, so you can easil reach the north and the south. The owners Karen and Pavlos are always up for a nice chat and arrange rentals or give you advice on what you could experience next. Very warm atmosphere, felt very welcome…we also „stole“ one of Karen‘s breakfast recipes and eat it every morning back in Germany as well (greek quinoa yoghurt with goji, pumpkin seeds, cocoa nibs and red berries). The rooms were always clean and have well functioning AC, which was very important with two days over 40 degrees…last but certainly not least, apart from the owners, the staff has been great! Especially Harris/Charis (still not sure how to spell his name correctly, what a shame) has been a great guy, improving our stay a lot!!
